RFL match officials

The RFL Match Officials are a select group of professional Rugby League match officials who officiate the top divisions of Rugby League in Britain.

Officials take part in a Fitness Test once every year to maintain and or gain their professional status. There are also monthly and weekly training sessions that officials are required to attend.

Current Graded Match Officials[1]

There are two groups: Graded Referees and Graded Touch Judges. Officials can be graded in one or both of these. Officials usually begin their career as Graded Touch Judges and progress to becoming a Graded Referee.

Within the two groups there are 4 different grades. These grades differentiate the levels of rugby which officials can officiate at. The grades and levels of which they can officiate at is listed below:
