Route

Its south-western end is the R24 in Roodepoort. It runs north-north-east as Christiaan De Wet Drive through the suburbs of Allen's Nek, Weltevredenpark, and Radiokop. It crosses Johannesburg's M5 road (Beyers Naude Drive) at Honeydew. It then becomes known as Northumberland Avenue and heads north-east through the suburbs of Sundowner and Northgate. After crossing Malibongwe Drive, formerly Hans Strijdom Drive (R512), it becomes Witkoppen Road for the remainder of its length. Before the Malibongwe Drive junction, at the Olivedale Road junction, it passes by the Ticketpro Dome.

It continues in an east-north-east direction through the suburbs of Northriding, Bloubosrand, Jukskei Park, and Fourways. Here, it meets the southern terminus of the R552 (Cedar Road) and crosses William Nicol Drive (R511), the Fourways referred to in the suburb's name. After this intersection, it heads east, through Lone Hill, Paulshof, Sunninghill, and Woodmead.

At the Eskom Megawatt Park, the road reaches a junction with Maxwell Drive and continues eastwards (by way of a right turn), intersects with the R55 Road, passes under the N1 just north of the Buccleuch interchange, to end at an intersection with the R101, Pretoria Main Road in the Buccleuch suburb.

gollark: That's what Anavrins wanted, *not* the DSK.
gollark: [file attached, by the way]
gollark: It worries me slightly that Firefox can access this.
gollark: I've brought my desktop back up again (with a cheap bad GPU) and wow the colors on this monitor look weird.
gollark: That was easier to program, and it's just text drawn onto the screen corner.
