Ken Dryden of AllMusic stated: "George Cables primarily focuses on jazz compositions in this 1994 trio session ... Highly recommended".[3] The Penguin Guide to Jazz wrote that "Quiet Fire is lovely: a cracking group and a riveting choice of material".[4]

gollark: This seems implausible. It would be terrible for everyone involved.
gollark: Simply launch all unhealthy people directly into the sun.
gollark: It would be quite cool. Although exactly what Bell Labs did might be hard to replicate. They had actual commercial goals of some sort to work toward, and good integration with the company's manufacturing and such.
