Quad Cities (disambiguation)

Geography

The term Quad Cities is used to apply to several areas that have four cities of similar size and importance within close geographic proximity. Among these are:

  • In Sweden: Uddevalla, Trollhättan, Lysekil, and Vänersborg, are locally referred to as "the Quad Cities" (Fyrstad).
  • In Alabama: Florence-Muscle Shoals Metropolitan Area, with Florence, Muscle Shoals, Sheffield, and Tuscumbia, being referred to as "the Quad Cities".
  • In Iowa and Illinois: the Quad Cities are Davenport and Bettendorf, Iowa, and Rock Island and Moline, Illinois. It also includes a fifth member, East Moline, Illinois.
    • The U.S. Census Bureau designated Quad Cities Metropolitan Area comprising the cities and towns in this area of Iowa and Illinois.
  • In Idaho and Washington: the Quad Cities are and Clarkston, Washington; Pullman, Washington; Lewiston, Idaho; and Moscow, Idaho.
  • In Minnesota: the Quad Cities of Minnesota are Virginia, Eveleth, Gilbert, and Mountain Iron.
