Puthupet (or Pudupet), sometimes called Thorapadi, is a town panchayat situated in Panruti taluk, Cuddalore district in Tamil Nadu, India.

It has an average literacy rate of 70%, higher than the national average of 59.5%; the male literacy is 77%, and the female literacy rate is 62%. Ten percent of the population is under 6 years of age.
