Pseudopriacanthus
Pseudopriacanthus is a genus of fish in the family Priacanthidae. Although previously synonymized with the Eocene genus Pristigenys, it has been recently revalidated based on numerous differences in the cranial region and the fins.[1][2]

Species
There are five currently recognized species:[1][3]
- Pseudopriacanthus alta (Gill, 1862) – short bigeye, catalufa de lo alto
- Pseudopriacanthus meyeri (Günther, 1872)
- Pseudopriacanthus niphonia (Cuvier in Cuvier and Valenciennes, 1829) – Japanese bigeye
- Pseudopriacanthus refulgens (Valenciennes, 1862)
- Pseudopriacanthus serrula (Gilbert, 1891) – popeye catalufa, catalufa semáforo
