Pseudo.com

Pseudo.com was one of the world's original online streaming content services, if not the very first.[1] It began with less than a dozen digital natives, led by Josh Harris, who broadcast the world's first AM radio show solely dedicated to the Internet. That team of rag tag visionaries would then hump the recording 12 blocks from the WEVD Radio headquarters to 600 Broadway and an upload to the 'net would ensue. The world was able to hear the latest in online culture and NYC pop culture, from their computers at home and work (those who were actually online at the time). It evolved into a multi-show network and then further to different streaming "channels". Pseudo was also a pioneering force in the integration of live chat and live streaming, where show hosts would chat live with audience members from around the world.[2] Consisting of all original programing, Pseudo webcasted live audio and video webcasting as well as previously recorded material. Founded in New York in late 1993, Pseudo began to grow exponentially in the late 1990's after an influx of capital [3] and the advent of dial up internet taking hold with the general population, growing to a company with multiple streaming channels. Its parent company Pseudo Programs Inc. filed for bankruptcy following the end of the dot-com bubble in 2000. Its assets were purchased by INTV in 2001.[5] Founder Josh Harris claimed in 2008 that Pseudo was a "fake company" and "the linchpin of a long form piece of conceptual art."[6]
