Predrag Štromar
Predrag Štromar (Croatian pronunciation: [prȅdrāg štrȏmar]; born 13 January 1969) is a Croatian politician who had served as the Minister of Construction and Physical Planning[1] and Deputy Prime Minister from 2017 to 2020. He has been President of the Croatian People's Party since 2020.[2]

Early life
Born in Vinica, Štromar attended secondary school in Varaždin. He graduated at the Zagreb Faculty of Economics and Business in 1993.
Political career
As a Croatian People's Party candidate, Štromar ran for Prefect of Varaždin County in the May 2009 election and won.
In the May–June 2013 election, Štromar was re-elected, while following the May–June 2017 election, Radimir Čačić replaced him as Prefect.
Between 2016 and 2017, Štromar served as Deputy Leader of the party, while between June and December 2017, he served as acting Leader of the party.
On 9 June 2017, Štromar was named Minister of Construction and Spatial Planning and Deputy Prime Minister in the centre-right cabinet of Andrej Plenković. On 24 May 2020, Štromar was elected President of the HNS.[3]
Personal life
Born in the village of Vinica based in Varaždin County, Štromar is married with two daughters.[4] Apart from Croatian, he is fluent in English.
