Praveen Pardeshi

Praveen Pardeshi is an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer, Former Municipal Commissioner of Mumbai[1]. He succeeded Ajoy Mehta and took office in May 2019. Prior to that he served as Additional Chief Secretary to then Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.[2]

Career

Pardeshi has 29 years experience in the Indian Administrative Services, serving in senior executive positions as Collector Latur and Solapur, Municipal Commissioner Pune and PCMC and Secretary to Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Principal Secretary, Revenue and Forest and Addl. Chief Secretary to Chief Minister. He worked in the senior leadership position in the United Nations for 7 years in Geneva: He headed the NDP Geneva Post Conflict Recovery Unit in Geneva (2002 to 2005, and was the Senior Co-ordinator, United Nations International Strategy for Disaster Reduction, Geneva for oversight over regional offices of Africa, Asia, Latin America and Europe, for policies on mainstreaming disaster reduction in development programmes. He successfully implemented post Conflict Recovery programme in Afghanistan, Indonesia, Sudan, Angola, Congo, Nepal, Ivory Coast.[3]
