Polis is an American app company.
Founding
Polis was cofounded by Steven Liss, and Kendall Tucker, as Polis Politics, after Tucker found that she was not able to find efficient enough campaign tools while running a state senate campaign in 2012.[1][2] Tucker serves as the firm's CEO. Founded in 2015 in Washington DC, the company moved to Boston in the same year.[3]
App use
Polis produces the Polis app, which was developed to be used by candidates and campaign volunteers while canvassing door-to-door[3] in local and national campaigns.[4] In 2016 it was used to knock on around three million doors[5] by 109 different electoral campaigns. In 2017[6] Polis added features that could be used in door-to-door sales[7] with seed funding from Jennus Innovation[6] and later Haystack VC.[8] For businesses, the app provides efficient routes to houses more likely to be interested in products.[5]
