Plage (mycology)

A plage is a clear, unornamented area on the basal area of an otherwise ornamented spore. It is characteristic of spores from the euagaric genus Galerina.

A plage is a discrete, smooth and flat to concave patch near the former point of attachment to a basidium on otherwise textured spores. Click image.
