Pine Gulch Fire
The Pine Gulch Fire is a wildfire burning near Grand Junction, Colorado in the United States. The fire, which started on July 31, 2020 approximately 18 miles north of Grand Junction, has so far burned a total of 82,838 acres (33,523 ha) and is 7% contained as of August 16, 2020.[1]

It is the 4th largest wildfire in Colorado's history.[2]
Events
August
By August 10, 2020 the fire had burned 36,449 acres (14,750 ha) and was 7% contained.[1]
On August 11, the fire grew to 51,455 acres (20,823 ha), while remaining only 7% contained.[4]
By August 13, the fire had grown yet again, to 69,135 acres (27,978 ha), having increased more than 10,000 acres in less than 48 hours.[5]
On August 14, Colorado Governor Jared Polis toured fire operations and met with the Pine Gulch Fire Incident Management Team for the fire.[6][7]
