Pierre Pruvost
Pierre Eugene Marie-Joseph Pruvost HFRSE (1890–1967) was a 20th-century French geologist specialising in the geology of Africa.
Life
He was born in Raismes in northern France on 1 August 1890.
From 1926 to 1950 he was Professor of Geology and Mineralogy at Lille University and from 1950 to 1960 was Professor of Geology at the Sorbonne in Paris.
In 1954 he was made a member of the Academy of Sciences in Paris. In 1963 he was elected an Honorary Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh.[1]
He died in Paris on 5 June 1967.
