Career
Starting track and field at the age of 12 and the decathlon at the age of 17, LePage emerged as a star athlete in 2015 after breaking the Canadian junior decathlon record.[3] LePage then gained funding through the RBC Training Ground talent identification program in 2016 and has been a developing decathlete ever since.[4] LePage won the decathlon at the 2017 Canadian Track and Field Championships, an event which Damian Warner was absent from.
He next competed at the 2018 Commonwealth Games taking place in Gold Coast, Australia. Teammate Warner was leading the event until he triple-faulted in the pole vault and withdrew from the event. Pierce continued to excel in the international competition and made a personal best 8,171 to win the silver medal behind Lindon Victor. After his win LePage said that "For me this is a huge stepping stone going from local competitions to a big event like the Commonwealth Games."[5]. In June of the 2019 season, LePage scored 8453 to win the Decastar meeting in Talance, France. This score qualified him for the World Championships in Doha, Qatar. In July, LePage won a bronze medal at the Pan Am games followed by a fifth place finish with a score of 8445 in his first World Championships. LePage then went on to win third in the IAAF Combined Events Challenge with teammate Warner coming first.
