Phalaenopsis 'Kaleidoscope'

Phalaenopsis Baldan's Kaleidoscope is an artificial orchid hybrid. One of the seedlings from this grex was awarded an Award of Merit by the American Orchid Society (abbreviated AM/AOS) and given the cultivar name 'Golden Treasure'. The vast majority of Phal. Baldan's Kaleidoscope plants sold today are clones of this original plant and is one of the most cloned orchid in the world. Widely sold in stores, used by florist and found in most orchid collections. It has many showy yellow flowers with red to deep pink stripes on a well formed arching spike. It is well known not just to be an attractive orchid, but it is hardy and blooms well. .

The grex, registered in 1990, was created in South Florida by Alberta, Barbara Baldan Who past on 04/05/16 pollinized Phalaenopsis Hausermann's Candy with Phalaenopsis Daryl Lockhart.[1]

Phalaenopsis Baldan's Kaleidoscope 'Golden Treasure' has been used successfully as the seed parent of a few new hybrids, for example, Phal. Baldan's Geisha = Phal. Baldan's Kaleidoscope × Phal. Golden Buddha.[2]
