Although at one time an independent company, Pfaudler has been acquired by a succession of holding companies. At the current time, it is part of the Process Solutions Group of National Oilwell Varco (NYSE: NOV), an American multinational public company.

Pfaudler in turn has independent locations / engineering / manufacturing facilities in Scotland, Germany, Mexico, India, South America and China.

The Rochester NY location has little interaction with other Pfaudler locations. As of late 2009, plans are to move production of some products to outside the US, reduce workforce and shutter parts of the plant.

Dec 15, 2014 Reuters(Listed German firm Deutsche Beteiligungs has acquired US company Pfaudler, with a view to setting up a subsequent co-investment with the management to support a management buyout.

Pfaudler manufactures glass and fluoropolymer-lined reactors and components for the chemical and pharmaceutical industries.

Deutsche Beteiligungs bought Pfaudler from US firm National Oilwell Varco. Pfaudler was founded in the US in the late 1800s and set up a production plant in Schwetzingen, Germany to circumvent export costs.

In India, Pfaudler partnered with Gujarat Machinery Manufacturers (GMM) for a joint venture, before acquiring 51% stake in the company and renaming it as GMM Pfaudler (NSE: GMMPFAUDLR).[1] GMM Pfaudler manufactures glass-lined reactors as well as non-glass-lined equipment for pharmaceutical and chemical companies. It has a market share of 60 percent in glass-lined equipment in India.[2]
