Pernia Qureshi

Pernia Qureshi is an Indian stylist, fashion entrepreneur and classical dancer. She is married to Sahil Gilani[2][3]

Life and career

Qureshi was born in Lahore, Pakistan[1] to an Indian father from Rampur, Moin Akhtar Qureshi,[4] and a Pakistani mother. She trained as a Kuchipudi dancer, under the dance couple Raja-Radha Reddy.[5] She has performed across India, with performances of Sufi music by Abida Parveen, and dance transliteration of the Urdu poems of Minu Bakshi.[6]

Pernia has worked as a stylist for Harper's Bazaar, Elle and Conde Nast; and designed costumes for the Bollywood film Aisha.[7]

Pernia played a courtesan in Muzaffar Ali's drama film set in pre-independence India, Jaanisaar, opposite Imran Abbas Naqvi.[8][9][10] The movie was released on 7 August 2015.[9]

Personal life

In 2011, Qureshi married Arjun Prasad, a London-based, ethnic-Indian accountant. The couple divorced in 2012.she got married to sahil gilani in 2019.[11]

Website

She launched an e-commerce website, Pernia's Pop-Up Shop, in 2012.[12] The site offers India's premier designers to a global clientele. Her e-commerce venture was created by Digital Impressions based in Delhi NCR, India.[13] Pernia's Pop-Up Shop was acquired by Purple Style Labs in 2019
