Peng Sheng-chu

Peng Sheng-chu (Chinese: 彭勝竹; pinyin: Péng Shèngzhú) is a Taiwanese politician and retired general of the Republic of China Air Force (ROCAF). He is the Director-General of the National Security Bureau since 26 October 2016.[1]

Career

Peng was once the chief bodyguard of President Chen Shui-bian.[2] In June 2005, he became the head of Military Intelligence Bureau. In 2009, he was appointed as the strategic adviser for the Presidential Office.[3] On 22 July 2019, Peng tendered his resignation due to cigarette smuggling scandals into Taiwan.[4]
