Pavlos Haikalis
Pavlos Haikalis (Greek: Παύλος Χαϊκάλης; born 1958 in Katakolo, Elis[1] is a Greek actor and politician. From 18 July 2015 until 28 August 2015 he was the Deputy Minister of Social Security in the coalition government of Alexis Tsipras.[2] From May 2012 until August 2015 Haikalis was a member of the Hellenic Parliament for the Independent Greeks representing the Attica constituency. Before joining the cabinet he was spokesman of his party for social security.[3]
His acting career includes many films and TV series.[4] One of his recent films is The Limousine (2013).[5] The New York Times website mentions his participation in the film Loukoumadhes Me Meli, (2004) directed by Olga Malea.[6][7]
When Haikalis became Deputy Minister he said that he was taking over "a very hot potato", which he had to "cool down".[3]
