Paul Martin Sr. Building
The Paul Martin Sr. Building is a 6-storey Art deco lowrise office building in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, located on the west side of Ouellette Avenue between Chatham Street and Pitt Street in downtown Windsor. There is an addition on the back that is 4 storeys. It is named after Paul Martin Sr., father of former Prime Minister of Canada, Paul Martin. The building is also known by its French name "Edifice Paul Martin" and was at one time nicknamed the "Post Office Building" because it once housed the Canada Post office. The Canada Post office was relocated to a new location down the street around 1994. There was still Canada Post sorting until approximately 2015. The building houses the Canada Revenue Agency. The Canada Border Services Agency used to have people located there when it was Canada Customs & Revenue Agency. The building was renamed on November 18, 1994. The building's limestone façade was in very poor condition and contained many chips and cracks visible from the street but it has been fixed & the scaffolding around the three streets (since 2009) to protect pedestrians from the threat of falling stone was removed in 2016. The one side of the building away from the streets was repaired in 2010[1]
