The 12925 / 12926 Paschim Express (पश्चिम एक्सप्रेस) is a Superfast express train belonging to Indian Railways that runs between Bandra Terminus in Mumbai(Maharashtra) and Amritsar in Punjab. It has slip coaches of 22925/26 which go towards Kalka.

Traction

Earlier Dual traction WCAM 1 or WCAM 2/2P locos would haul the train between Bandra Terminus & Vadodara after which a Ghaziabad based WAP 1 would take over for the remainder on the journey.

Since Western Railways completed DC Electric Conversion to AC on 5 February 2012, it is now regularly hauled by a Ghaziabad based WAP 7 or WAP 5 locomotive for its entire journey.

It is now regularly hauled by a Vadodara (BRC) or Valsad (BL) Electric Loco Shed based WAP 4E locomotive on its entire journey.

Train history

  • The Paschim Express was originally known as Super Deluxe Express which was later changed as Paschim Express.
  • It was one of the first trains to be transferred to Bandra Terminus from Mumbai Central.
  • It does not stop at Hazrat Nizamuddin when it operates as 12926 Paschim Express.
