Papuan lorikeet
The Papuan lorikeet, also known as Stella's lorikeet and Mount-Goliath lorikeet (Charmosyna papou) is a species of parrot in the family Psittaculidae. It is found in New Guinea. Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist montane forests. The Papuan lorikeet occurs in a red phase and a melanistic phase, the melanistic phase is frequently found at higher altitudes and is more sensitive to overheating in warm weather.

Taxonomy
The Papuan lorikeet has four recognized subspecies:[2]
• C. p. stellae
• C. p. papou
• C. p. giolatha
• C. p. wahnesi
