Pallas-1

The Pallas-1 is a medium-lift orbital launch vehicle under development by Galactic Energy of China.[1][2]

It will use RP-1 and liquid oxygen (kerolox) in its first stage. The first stage will have seven variable thrust engines, legs and grid fins to allow recovery by vertical landing (much like the SpaceX Falcon 9).[1] First launch is due by end 2022.[2][1]

The booster will use seven new 40-ton variable thrust ‘Cangqiong’ (Welkin) engines.[1]

It is planned to be able to put 4 tonnes into Low Earth Orbit (LEO), or 2 tonnes into Sun synchronous orbit (SSO).[1][3]
