The village of Ouranoupoli is situated on the coastline in the northwest part (the very beginning) of the Athos peninsula, part of the bigger Chalkidiki peninsula. It is the last settlement before the border with the monastic state of Mount Athos (the Holy Mountain). The village houses the Christian Chalkidiki Exhibition at the old tower. The city of Thessaloniki is about 140 km from Ouranoupoli And aproxamately 140 KM from the city of Kavala
History
gollark: Perhaps we need some way to get people to not do that...
gollark: You could probably make a bootleg version with a cheap transparent screen (these must surely exist) and a small computer and battery attached to a hat or something.
gollark: There seems to be a bunch of stuff which could have been cool but never got polished enough/people disliked it. Like Google Glass.
gollark: I feel like now should be more futurey.
gollark: It seems like the other (non-climate) data is actually from the "400 cities" index.
