Opposing Views

Opposing Views (also known as OV) is an American digital news website headquartered in Los Angeles.[1] The site presents original and aggregated news articles from across the political spectrum. In October 2015, Facebook announced that Opposing Views would be selected to participate in the beta round of the Facebook Instant Articles program.[2]

History

The web site was originally launched in 2008 by Russell Fine as a platform for news and structured debate.[3] The original investors included Gil Elbaz and Siemer Venture Capital, previously Frontera Capital.[4] These investors and others contributed nearly $2 million worth of funding over three years and two rounds of funding.[1] In 2010, Opposing Views was acquired by Deep Dive Media which downplayed the debate platform and focused solely on news.[1]

gollark: You're the Redmi Note 7 user?

gollark: Weird, I just got a flurry of requests for https://osmarks.tk/random-stuff/fortune.
gollark: I wonder if there's a way to make visitors use IPv6 by default if available.
gollark: The webcrawler bots like BingBot are probably using the crawling thing, but some of them seem to just be checking IPs/domains to try and explit things.
