Plot

A married couple, Stellan (Josh Randall) and Cathy (Claire Rankin), enlist a surrogate named Cathy (Kate Beahan), to bear their child. The situation is complicated when Stellan's boss Bob (Matthew Lillard) falls in love with Cathy.[1][2]

Reception

One of Our Own was not given a commercial release, as financial backers insisted on edits which were unpalatable to director Levy and star Lillard. An unmodified version was shown at film festivals in 2007 and 2008.[3]

Ken Eisner of Variety compared the film to Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, writing:

Bolstered by a smart script and razor-sharp perfs, this impressively taut adult drama reps an edgy yet amusing look at middle-class fertility rites. Presence of funnyman Matthew Lillard in a harder, change-of-pace role could help get this gem to the right thirtysomething auds.[1]

gollark: I wouldn't expect them to put the entire image in or something, but IPFS URLs aren't that long.
gollark: I think someone made one which displays differently on different platforms, but I can't dig it out of my web history.
gollark: I'd expect at least IPFS or something.
gollark: Apparently most NFTs aren't actually remotely decentralized, and are just hosted on random servers somewhere without even validation that the served content matches a hash or something.
