Omar Bugiel
Omar Khalid Chaaban Bugiel[lower-alpha 1] (/ˈoʊmɑːr buˈɡiːl/; Arabic: عمر خالد شعبان بوغيل, Lebanese Arabic: [ˈʕomar ʃaʕˈbeːn]; born 3 January 1994) is a Lebanese professional footballer who plays as a striker for National League club Sutton United and the Lebanon national team. Born in Germany to a German mother, Bugiel was eligible to represent Lebanon through his father.

Club career
Early career
Bugiel was a youth player at TSV 1860 Munich before moving to England aged 16 with the aim of learning English. He enrolled at Chichester College,[2] and was part of the youth team at Chichester City.[3]
He then joined Selsey, his time there including a short spell at Burgess Hill Town,[4] before transferring to Bognor Regis Town and then Worthing.[5]
Forest Green Rovers
Promotion and League Two
After prolific goalscoring form over four years at the Rebels, scoring 45 league goals in 103 appearances,[6] he was signed by Forest Green Rovers in February 2017 for an undisclosed fee.[7] Bugiel was part of the Forest Green side that were victorious in the National League play-offs at the end of the season. He made his EFL League Two debut against Barnet on 5 August 2017.
Loan to Bromley
On 4 January 2018, Bugiel joined National League side Bromley on loan for the remainder of the campaign.[8] He was released by Forest Green at the end of the 2017–18 season.[9]
Sutton United
On 3 June 2019, Sutton United announced the signing of Bugiel.[11] He scored his first league goal for the club on 26 October 2019, in a 2–3 home defeat to Ebbsfleet United.[12] In December 2019, Bugiel scored in both the first round and the replay of the 2019–20 FA Trophy matches against Dagenham & Redbrige, with his team however failing to qualify to the next round.[13][14] On 21 December 2019, Bugiel scored a hat-trick in the league against Wrexham in a 3–1 home win.[15]
The next matchday, on Boxing Day, he scored a brace against Woking in a 2–0 home win in the league,[16] with his first goal being a 25-yard volley in the first minute.[17] The goal was voted winner of the 2020 Vanarama National League World Cup of Goals on Twitter.[18] Bugiel scored seven goals in the last four matches in all competitions.[19]
International career
Eligible to play for Lebanon through his father,[20] Bugiel was called up by the Lebanon national football team in May 2017 for an AFC Asian Cup qualifier against Malaysia,[21] but did not feature in the 2–1 win. He was called up again for the next qualifier in North Korea on 5 September 2017.
Bugiel made his debut for Lebanon on 9 November 2017, coming on as a substitute, in a 1–0 victory over Singapore. His first goal also came as a substitute, scoring the maiden goal on 6 September 2018 in a friendly against Jordan.
