Nurunnahar Fatema Begum
Nurunnahar Fatema Begum (Born 19 September 1972) is a physician and Brigadier General in Bangladesh Army. In 2019, she was awarded the Independence Day Award for her unique contribution to medicine.[1]

Early life
Begum was born on 19 September 1962 in Moulvibazar District, East Pakistan, Pakistan.[2] She is the sixth of seven children of customs official MA Wadud and housewife Mayunnesa Khatun.[2][3]
Begum did her SSC in 1986 from Kishori Mohan Girls School and HSC from Murari Chand College in 1969. She graduated from Sylhet Osmani Medical College in 1975.[3]
Career
Begum is head of paediatric cardiology at the Combined Medical Hospital, Dhaka.[4]
