Haroz was born in Israel. His mother, Adina Haroz, is a professional harpist.[2]

He was the Principal Trombonist of the Los Angeles Philharmonic from 2012 to 2014. From 1993 to 1995, he was the Assistant Principal Trombonist for the New York Philharmonic, and was principal trombonist at the Israel Symphony Orchestra Rishon LeZion and the Juilliard Symphony Orchestra, where he attended school. He also played trombone in the Israel Defense Forces Orchestra and the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra. Haroz has taught at the Curtis Institute of Music since 1998[3] and also teaches at Temple University.[2]

Haroz studied at the Juilliard School as a student of Joseph Alessi. He premiered Blue Winter for trombone and orchestra by Roland Pöntinen in 2014.[4]

Haroz also performs as a jazz musician[5] and as a concert trombonist in his solo and chamber recitals.[6]

gollark: Wait, that book is popular so people actually know about it, what vaguely ridiculously esoteric books have I read...
gollark: Er. Hmm. Rincewind?
gollark: Imagine: someone tells you "yes I really like [CHARACTER] or [EVENT]". If you have no idea what book they're from or any idea about it, you may have to embarrass yourself and say you don't know! But with a way to search all books ever (okay, you can't do that with just public domain ones however bees) you can have vague surface level knowledge of something on demand!
gollark: I'm aware of that, but they don't have a convenient search thing.
gollark: Idea: download all public domain books and index them for search such that people can conveniently look up things on demand and appear to have read and know about them, for pretension purposes
