Plot
An England returned doctor [ Dev Anand ] comes to a village and falls in love with a girl [ Madhubala } who is walking on the road. In that idyllic surroundings they fall in love with fun and music. She has a brother [ Yakub ]who resents the doctor and cruelly gets his sister married to an old man [ Mazhar Khan in an insipid role ] for selfish gains. She falls ill immediately after marriage and her lover as a doctor is called upon to treat her . Many misunderstandings and tears follow with the girl committing suicide just before the doctor reaches her.
