Night Wind

Night Wind are a musical group from Uzbekistan. They play progressive metal and folk metal. They were formed in Tashkent on 25 November 1998. Over the course of their career they have released one album, The Midnight's Dances. They have been unable to record more albums because of a lack of money.[1]

They are one of the few Uzbekistani metal groups in existence, along with Z-Bek, Zindan, Iced Warm, and Salupa, and are generally considered to be the most notable.

Beginnings

Studying in the Tashkent Motor-car-road Institute, Alex Gutsov decided to form an English-singing rock group. The group was originally to be called Utopia, but the name was soon changed to Night Wind.

The Midnight's Dances

The Midnight's Dances was the first album released by Night Wind. It remains their only album. The band switched studios several times during the recording of the album.[2] Dmitriy Korotkov writes the lyrics.

Group views

Korotkov stated in an interview that the group "wanted the quality of the recordings of our album to be good for us."[3] In the same interview, he said that " I want to bring up in minds and souls of our fans and men the bendy, batty of people, beauty, harmony, love, our way to perceive and feelings, understanding life all over the world!...I wrote about all that I hate, my dreams, pain, scorns, my ignorance and so on!" Also in the same interview, Gutsov stated that his favourite song off the album is Mistress and that the group was satisfied with the recording.

Reception

The group was pleasantly surprised at the positive reactions the album received. Gutsov said that "Most people say that Night WinD has the melody in them and we create really melodic songs and easy to perceive sounds. We have to work in such way and save our reputation all over the world as a melodic rock-band."
