Nicolai Gentchev

Nicolai Gentchev is a television producer and journalist, and the former Editor of BBC One's Question Time from 2011.

Early life

His surname has a Bulgarian heritage. He attended the University of Glasgow. He has written for Socialist Review,[1] the magazine of the Socialist Workers Party, and International Socialism (magazine).[2]

Career

Bloomberg News

He worked for Bloomberg for six years.

Radio 4

He joined the BBC in April 2006. He worked on the Today programme from 2008 to 2010.

Good Morning Scotland

From January 2010 to April 2011 he was Editor of Good Morning Scotland, the main breakfast programme on BBC Radio Scotland.

Question Time

He became Editor of Question Time in April 2011.[3][4] In September 2011, the Question Time office moved from London to Glasgow.

In September 2016 he became the Executive Producer of Question Time, replacing Hayley Valentine.[5] Mentorn Media has produced Question Time since 1998.
