Early life

DeIuliis was born and raised in Pittsburgh.[3] He graduated from Penn State University in 1990 with a degree in chemical engineering.[4] He also has advanced degrees in law and business. [5] He worked as a research associate at Carnegie Mellon University before applying to work as a research engineer with CONSOL Energy.[4] He was offered the position and accepted.[4]

Career

In 1998, DeIuliis was promoted to Director of Strategic Planning at CONSOL.[4] By 2006, he was Senior Vice President - Strategic Planning[5] and worked on the planning and launching of CNX Gas’s public offering.[4] CNX Gas was a wholly owned subsidiary of CONSOL, created in 1994 to extract and market the methane gas that would otherwise escape into the atmosphere as a waste product from CONSOL’s coal deposits.[4] CONSOL spun CNX out as a separate company in June 2005, and conducted an initial public offering in 2006.[4]

After the initial public offering, in which CONSOL sold 20% of CNX Gas, DeIuliis was offered the position of CEO of the company.[4] He served as CEO of CNX Gas until it returned to being a unit of CONSOL in 2009.[6] At that time, he was named COO of CONSOL.[7] In February 2011, DeIuliis became CONSOL’s president [8] [9].  In 2014, he took over as CEO.[6][8]

In July 2017, CONSOL laid out its plans for the creation of a separate natural gas company.[9] The newly-named company CNX Resources Corp. oversaw the natural gas business, while CONSOL kept ownership of CONSOL’s mines and coal-related assets.[9] DeIuliis, president and CEO of CONSOL, was given the same title at the new natural gas company, CNX Resources.[9]
