Team history
Their home games were played at Memorial Stadium in Mount Vernon. The stadium's 300-foot fence contributed to the high scores recorded in many of the Clippers' games. Players on that 1977 team included Larry Chiapetta, Mike Foley, Gary Richter, Steve Shurina, Mike "The Machine" Melillo, and Jim Galloway. Mike Foley hit 32 home runs for the Clippers in 1977, while Jim Galloway homered 26 times. Ron Swoboda formerly of the New York Mets coached the team.[1]
