Born in Bilice, a municipality based in Šibenik-Knin County few kilometres away from Šibenik, where was also born Biserka Mikulandra, a mother of one of the best Croatian basketballers, Dražen Petrović, she graduated from the Zagreb Faculty of Law. Before she entered the politics, she worked most of her career as a lawyer.[3]
Political career
Joining the largest centre-right political party in Croatia, the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ), she ran for mayor of Šibenik in the early election for the City Assembly, that took place on 16 April 2004, and won, officially taking the mayor role on 12 May.
In the May 2009 election,[5] she lost in the second round to SDP-candidate Ante Županović, who became the next mayor.[6] After that, she withdraws from politics.
She also served as a member of the Croatian Parliament for the 9th electoral district between January 2008 to December 2011, during two HDZ prime ministers Ivo Sanader and Jadranka Kosor.[4]
