Species
- Tobacco necrosis virus A (TNV_A)
- Tobacco necrosis virus D (TNV-D)[1]
- Chenopodium necrosis virus (ChNV)
- Black beet scorch virus [2]
- Leek white stripe virus [2]
- Olive latent virus 1 [2]
Tentative species
- Lisianthus necrosis (LNV) (tentative)[3]
- Carnation yellow stripe (tentative)
Status unknown
- Olive mild mosaic virus[4]
- Corn salad necrosis virus[5]
Morphology
Icosahedral structure, each face containing six identical capsid proteins, arranged in a rotationally symmetric manner.
Vectors
While necroviruses are spread by mechanical means, often relating to propagation, most, if not all, species have a common fungal vector, Olpidium brassicae
gollark: Oh, right, you should probably ask though.
gollark: There are a bunch of projects reverse-engineering small things on the forums and whatnot, and those appear to be okay.
gollark: Well, that rule is basically just incredibly loosely enforced and used to get rid of what TJ09 doesn't like (*yes I am still annoyed*)...
gollark: (wild guessing mostly; I just doubt TJ09 would make it go up much)
gollark: I don't actually know this, but I suspect we get maybe 120 prizes a month tops now.
