Nazir Ahmad Laway
Nazir Ahmad Laway (born 5 November 1963 in Hanad Chawalgam, Kulgam district in India) is the Member of Parliament representing the state of Jammu & Kashmir in Rajya Sabha. [1]

He was elected to Rajya Sabha from state of Jammu and Kashmir on the ticket of JKPDP in February 2015. He is also believed to have developed close connections with top Politicians in New-Delhi.[2]
He is concentrating on the development of infrastructure at educational institutions and Hospitals in the state. He has also contributed the major amount of his MPLAD fund for developing rural electrification in Kashmir. He is considered to be a proactive politician and the only Member of Parliament from state who continuously moving to every Village. He is easily accessible to the people and has set an example of moving in constituency while shunning the VIP culture.
He has raised the issue of Kashmir in Parliament on various occasions. He has sought for a political solution to Kashmir Issue. He attained infamy on 5 August 2019 due to his protest against abrogation of article 370. He tore up the constitution of India and was promptly escorted out of the parliament by marshals at Rajya Sabha[3].
On 1 November, he was expelled through an anonymous press release from J&KPDP for anti-party activities as he attended the swearing-in ceremony of first Lt. Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Girish Chandra Murmu. [4]
