Natasha Raskin

Natasha Raskin-Sharp (born 1986 in Glasgow, Scotland) is a Scottish television presenter, and antiques and art expert, especially in Scottish contemporary art, best known for her appearances on television. The daughter of contemporary Scottish artist Philip Raskin,[1] she has appeared in programmes in the UK and the USA including Antiques Road Trip, Celebrity Antiques Road Trip, Flog It!, Bargain Hunt, For What It's Worth and Baggage Battles.[2]

Early life and education

She was born in 1986 in Glasgow, the middle of three children in a family of art lovers and collectors.[3] Her father is the artist Philip Raskin. Initially she studied law at Glasgow University but left her degree course after a year.[4]

Career

After deciding that law was not for her, she undertook a number of activities, during which she had a placement with the Alice Temperley fashion house,[5] and worked in the primary elections of 2008 for Barack Obama in New Hampshire, during which he referred to her as part of "the Scottish contingent" of his team, and provided her with a signed reference for her work.[5]

After returning to Scotland she joined Glasgow auction house McTear's, as an auctioneer and latterly as Head of Pictures, dealing mainly with Scottish contemporary art.[3] After her marriage, she now shares her auctioneering and valuation event duties at McTear's with her TV career.[6]

Television

Raskin is a regular expert contributor on the BBC's Antiques Road Trip, Celebrity Antiques Road Trip, Flog It! and has acted as both expert and lead presenter on BBC's Bargain Hunt. She appeared in the US show Baggage Battles. Her most recent show is For What It's Worth with Fern Britton.[2] She has also appeared on the Janice Forsyth Show on BBC Radio Scotland, reviewing an exhibition at the National Galleries of Scotland.[7] She has been a guest presenter on BBC Radio Scotland's The Music Match, and since 2017, has presented a weekly programme, playing an eclectic mix of music. [8] She has presented story segments for The One Show on BBC 1.

gollark: There's an option to do that on install.
gollark: Anyway, you can run it in CCEmuX to try the uninstaller.
gollark: It's better!
gollark: Yes, that is what I have been saying.
gollark: ```Features:- Fortunes/Dwarf Fortress output/Chuck Norris jokes on boot (wait, IS this a feature?)- (other) viruses (how do you get them in the first place? running random files like this?) cannot do anything particularly awful to your computer - uninterceptable (except by crashing the keyboard shortcut daemon, I guess) keyboard shortcuts allow easy wiping of the non-potatOS data so you can get back to whatever nonsense you do fast- Skynet (rednet-ish stuff over websocket to my server) and Lolcrypt (encoding data as lols and punctuation) built in for easy access!- Convenient OS-y APIs - add keyboard shortcuts, spawn background processes & do "multithreading"-ish stuff.- Great features for other idio- OS designers, like passwords and fake loading (set potatOS.stupidity.loading [time], set potatOS.stupidity.password [password]).- Digits of Tau available via a convenient command ("tau")- Potatoplex and Loading built in ("potatoplex"/"loading") (potatoplex has many undocumented options)!- Stack traces (yes, I did steal them from MBS)- Backdoors- er, remote debugging access (it's secured, via ECC signing on disks and websocket-only access requiring a key for the other one)- All this useless random junk can autoupdate (this is probably a backdoor)!- EZCopy allows you to easily install potatOS on another device, just by sticking it in the disk drive of another potatOS device!- fs.load and fs.dump - probably helpful somehow.```
