Plot
At the center of the dramatic series "Na granici" is a young, just graduated economist, Petra, who on her return from Zagreb, passes a bus to her native village and meets a new border police officer who was sent to end the smuggling from Bosnia and Herzegovina to Croatia. Zorka, the head of the house and the chief of the illegal business of smuggling tobacco and other goods over the border, believes in Petra very much and brings her into the business to be able to replace her one day. From the illegal business, the whole village lives, and Petra becomes the main single woman in that small place. All fathers of young men see the opportunity to marry their sons to Petra because it means a good life with a guaranteed job in the future. The main threat to the illegal business is a Police Chief Zvonko, who has been trying to catch the villagers for many years, but he always fails. A new local and border police officer, Marko, comes in the dilemma: to reveal the locals in their business or to stay silent and leave a chance to win the heart of the young Petra.[1]
