Early life

Emily Rose Kafoury was born in Montreal, Canada. At the age of 7, she began taking violin lessons which led her to find her true passion. The young singer claims that violin was a huge part of her life growing up and it helped her mold into the performer she is today. From the age of 12, she has been trained both classically and in jazz studies. Throughout high school, she took many theatre and broadway classes.[1]

Career

2014–present

At the age of 19, she released her first single "More" independently to wide critical acclaim. She describes her music genre as Alt-Pop. "if you want to label it, because my music is not white, it's not black; it's grey. For smell, I'd say like, sea salt. I love that smell. It's fresh and it's distinctive. It's rare. And for taste, pizza. My music has layers."[1] Her most recent single “Heavy Hitters” went #1 in Quebec on the correspondant radio charts.
