History

In December 2017, Walibi Rhône-Alpes was teasing a new roller coaster for the park's 40th anniversary. It would have a vertical lift hill and a launch. The ride would also include a switch track and three inversions including a twisted in-line rollback.[1]

On December 24, 2018, Walibi Rhône-Alpes announced that the ride would be named Mystic. It would have a voodoo theme.[2]

Mystic soft opened on May 25, 2019. The ride's official opening was May 30.

Ride Experience

After the train leaves the station, it climbs the 101.7-foot (31.0 m) tall vertical lift hill. Once at the top, it drops at a 90 degree angle, reaching speeds of 52.8 miles per hour (85.0 km/h). The train ascends an outside top hat, before heading straight into a zero-g roll. The zero-g roll is followed by a dive loop. After the dive loop, the train banks to the left and ascends into a twisted in-line rollback. It then rolls backwards, past the banked turn and slowing down on the brakes. A switch track allows the train to return to the station.

gollark: Having a browser instance when you don't need one would be hilariously inefficient.
gollark: Why would you do that?
gollark: I never actually used any of this because the regular online versions are generally up and indexed by search engines.
gollark: I, personally, have a somewhat outdated offline copy of Wikipedia and also several other wikis.
gollark: Everyone loves vast quantities of highly dubiously useful data!
