Mumblin' Deaf Ro

Rónán Hession (/ˈrnɔːn ˈhɛʃən/), known as Mumblin' Deaf Ro, is an Irish blues musician and novelist.[1][2][3][4]

Career

Hession was in several bands in Dublin: Rinty, Boxcar, The Critters. He also performed under the name of "Johnny Horsebox."[5]

Mumblin' Deaf Ro had his first release in 2003. His 2012 album Dictionary Crimes was named as Irish album of the year by Nialler9 and the Irish Independent, and it was nominated for the Choice Music Prize.[6]

Literature

Hession published his first novel, Leonard and Hungry Paul, in 2019.[11] It was longlisted for the Republic of Consciousness Prize.
