More Than Friends (TV series)

More Than Friends (Korean: 경우의 수; RR: Kyeongueui Su; lit. Number of Cases) is an upcoming South Korean television series starring Ong Seong-wu, Shin Ye-eun, Kim Dong-jun, Pyo Ji-hoon and Baek Soo-min. It is scheduled to premiere on JTBC in September 2020.

More Than Friends tells the story of two friends who had a crush on each other for 10 years but remained friends because of misunderstandings.

Development

Early working title of the series is Number of Cases Friends Become Lovers (Korean: 친구에서 연인이 되는 경우의 수; RR: Chingueseo Yeonini Dweneun Kyungwooui Soo).[1]

Casting

On February 18, 2020, news outlet Osen reported that Ong Seong-wu would play the lead role of the series.[2] The same day, another news outlet revealed that Shin Ye-eun would be Ong's co-star.[3] Fantagio and NPIO Entertainment (respectively Ong and Shin's agencies) confirmed that they were both positively reviewing the offer but that nothing had been decided yet.[4][5] On March 25, Kim Dong-jun's agency confirmed that the actor had joined the main cast.[6] The final lineup was confirmed on April 9.[7]

Filming

Part of filming took place in Jeju Island.[8][9]

Release

The first trailer for the series was released on August 7, 2020.[10] It received a positive response on social media and web portals.[11] On August 12, JTBC released a special teaser video showing the friends' memories over the past ten years in the form of Woo-yeon's homepage.[12]
