Monthly Pukheroo

Pukheroo(Punjabi=پکھیرو،ਪਖੇ੍ਰੂ) is a children magazine publishing from Lahore Pakistan in shahmukhi Punjabi by Punjabi bal adabi board. Pakistan is the only Punjabi magazine in western Punjab. Pukheroo publishes stories, poems, stories, rhymes, riddles, songs and lullabies for children. [1] Ashraf Sohail is the current editor and chief of this magazine. Pukheroo was only handled by Ashraf sohail alone. [2] But Abdul Ghafoor Khan, Sohail Qaiser Hashmi, Ali Akmal Tasawwar make their contribution in monthly pukheroo.

History

Pukheroo was all alone managed by Ashraf sohail in its beginning days. Suddenly after 10 year it stops its publication. Punjabi Bal Adabi board with the help of government of Punjab revived the publication of magazine. It has 64 pages and entertains the lehanda speaking Punjabis with floks songs and poetry. [3]

Speical Numbers

Pukheroo sometimes mentioned as pakheru also published some special numbers. Novel number is one of the famous editions published by pukheroo it includes five novels authored by Jasbeer Bhullar, Dr. Iftikhar khokhar, Ali Akmal Tasuwwar, Tarseem and M.Y Qaiser. Text is supported by relevant drawing and sketches made by JS Deep. [4]

Audience

Pukheroo is famous all over the world it has its audience in USA and Canada. Ashraf Sohail has also appeared in Tahir Gora show Punjab Rang on Tag tv show. [5]
