On 7 April 2019, Afrah was found dead lying on his bed at around 11:00 (Maldivian time) after he failed to wake up for breakfast.[1] He was pronounced dead on taking to Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital.[1] His funeral prayer was performed at Aasahara Mosque after Isha prayer.[1]
