Ministry of Justice, Security and Integration (Aruba)
The Ministry of Justice, Security and Integration of Aruba is responsible for "law enforcement, public order and security, border control, immigration and integration policy, fire brigade, legislation of all ministries, advice on administrative and legal matters of all ministries, representation of the Land in legal proceedings, games of chance and orthopedagogical treatment of persons."[1] Per an ordinance passed in 2002, the ministry is organized as follows:[2]
- The Directorate of Judicial Affairs.
- The Support Office.
- The Executive Services: the organizational units belonging to the Netherlands Antilles Police Force, including the Netherlands Antilles Security Service, with a maximum of 889 filling stations, the Public Prosecutor's Office, with a maximum of 58 staff positions, the Registry of the Common Court of Justice of the Netherlands Antilles and Aruba, with a maximum of 75 formation places, the prison system, with a maximum of 281 formation places, and the Gouvernements Opvoedings Gesticht, with a maximum of 36 formation places
The Attorney General of Aruba serves as the legal adviser to the Minister of Justice, Security and Integration.
