Ministry of Energy (Kazakhstan)

The Ministry of Energy (Kazakh: Энергетика министрлігі) is an executive body of the Government of Kazakhstan, which carries out state administration in the field of energy. The Ministry was created during the reorganization of the government on 6 August 2014.[1] The Ministry's functions and powers was from the Ministry of Oil and Gas, Ministry of Industry and New Technologies and the Ministry of Environment and Water.

Background

In 2014, Kazakhstan's energy sector turned to the country's Prime Minister Karim Massimov with a request to create a Ministry of Energy, as the situation in the republic with a lack of coordination in the activities of various government bodies in the electric power industry has developed. Prior to the creation of the ministry, various departments dealt with energy issues, which could not cope with their duties.[2]

gollark: So basically, I would not take that figure very seriously.
gollark: The only source I can find is here (https://alfin2100.blogspot.com/2013/01/the-life-span-of-empires-250-years.html) and this has a dead link to an essay of some kind, and is apparently only aware of about 10 empires.
gollark: That seems like it's got to be a ridiculous overgeneralization of some kind. I'll check.

gollark: I don't think that's how this sort of thing generally works. Generally things have multiple (possible) causes.
