Plot

The world of 11-year-old Milton Adams (William Ainscough) is unsettled, chiefly because his parents (Mia Kirshner and David Sutcliffe) endlessly worry about their careers and finances. With the neighborhood bully persecuting him, Milton's entire life feels like a catastrophe. All that begins to change when his Grandpa Howard (Donald Sutherland) comes for a visit; Milton learns that the distress he feels about his past together with his apprehension about his future are what make his life worse and stop him from finding true happiness.

Cast

Production

Donald Sutherland signed on to the cast on 23 July 2015.[1] On October 8, 2015, Michelle Rodriguez joined the cast, stating that she will star in a Canadian drama film, after the release of Furious 7.[2] This is Donald Sutherland's first film in leading role in nearly a decade. The role of Grandpa Howard originally belonged to Peter Fonda.[3]

Filming locations included Vancouver, British Columbia; Hamilton and Brampton, Ontario, Canada.

Release

Momentum Pictures will release the film.[4][5] This is Donald's second project with Momentum, the first being a collaboration with his son, Kiefer Sutherland, the drama-Western, Forsaken. The first trailer and poster for the film was announced on August 8, 2016, with the tagline: "Be here. Now."[6]

The film has its world premiere at the Vancouver International Film Festival on September 30, 2016.[7]

Reception

The film has received mixed-to-negative reviews from critics, although the public has responded more favourably.[8][9]
