Miguel Gatan Purugganan

Miguel Gatan Purugganan (November 18, 1931 July 7, 2011) was a Philippine clergyman and Roman Catholic Bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Ilagan.

Miguel Gatan Purugganan was born in Cabagan. He received, on 3 March 1957, the priestly ordination. Pope Paul VI appointed him on 23 January 1971 to the Titular Bishop of Egnatia and ordered him to auxiliary bishop in Nueva Segovia. The Apostolic Nuncio to the Philippines, Carmine Rocco gave him on 22 April of that year, the Episcopal ordination ; co-consecrators were Juan C. Sison, Archbishop of Nueva Segovia, and Teodulfo Sabugal Domingo, Bishop of Tuguegarao. On 21 January 1974 he was appointed Bishop of Ilagan appointed. On 26 July 1999, he resigned.[1]
