Michael Poe

Michael Poe is a webcomic artist known for creating the webcomics Babylon Jones, Exploitation Now, Errant Story and Does Not Play Well with Others.[1] He majored in art at the Savannah College of Art and Design.

Works

Poe's webcomic Exploitation Now ran from 2000 to 2002 and evolved from a gag-a-day to a more dramatic story. The character Jordan Kennedy from Exploitation Now received two Web Cartoonists' Choice Awards in the categories "Best Supporting Character" and "Best Female Character". A single volume of Exploitation Now was published in print by Keenspot, under the title Exploitation Now: Selling Out for Fun and Profit.[2]

Poe's longrunning fantasy webcomic Errant Story began after the conclusion of Exploitation Now and follows the character Meji Hinadori, a 17 year-old half-elf finishing her education as a mage, who is on a quest to become "an all powerful, insane demigod." Errant Story is both available in black-and-white and color.[3] Poe published two volumes of this webcomic through Keenspot.

Awards

Poe's webcomic won two Web Cartoonists' Choice Awards in 2003, in the categories "Best Fantasy Comic" and "Best Newcomer Comic".[4]
